Seker, Professor Muzaffer 

Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) President, Professor Dr Muzaffer Şeker, was born in 1961. He graduated from Uludağ University Veterinary Faculty in 1986. Subsequently, Prof Şeker earned his PhD degree in Human Anatomy at the University of Leicester, Faculty of Medicine in England, in 1995. He achieved the position of associate professor in 2000 and was promoted to full professorship in 2006. 

Prof Şeker worked as an instructor in the United Arab Emirates for two years. He also held the position of the Head of the Department of Medical Education and Informatics at the Meram Faculty of Medicine at Selçuk University. He played a crucial role as a member of the Founding Board of Trustees of Istanbul Medipol University from 2008 to 2010. Prof Şeker also holds a BA degree in Public Administration. 

In December 2014, he was appointed as the founding rector of Konya Necmettin Erbakan University and served a second term in the same role. Prof Şeker has been actively involved in various academic and administrative positions, including serving as a TÜBİTAK Science Council Member, Interuniversity Council Medical Health Education Council Member, Ministry of Health Board Member of Health Tourism, Interuniversity Council Associate Professorship Council Member, former president of KOP Regional Universities Association, Executive Board of the University Hospitals Association. He has been serving as the President of TÜBA since 2019.
