Since 2019, Finarya has been working at the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI) as the Head of International Relations & Funding. She is also a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia, specializing in Sustainable Architecture Science & Technology. She earned her PhD in Applied Acoustics from the University of Salford, UK.
During Indonesia’s G20 Presidency in 2022, Finarya served as the Secretary of Science20 and later as the Science20 Focal Point for India (2023) and Brazil (2024) under AIPI’s leadership.
Since 2020, she has been a member of the working group for the Southeast Asia Science Advice Network (SEA SAN), a Senior Program Officer at the Indonesian Science Fund (DIPI), and a Senior Officer at the Southeast Asia–Europe Joint Funding Scheme (SEA-EU JFS) Secretariat.
Since 2021, Finarya has served as the Chairperson of the SHARE Communication Committee (Science, Health, Agriculture, Risk, and Environment) within AASSA (the Association of Academies & Societies of Sciences in Asia). Her focus includes open access, science literacy, and addressing misinformation and disinformation.
From 1999 to 2012, she worked at the Indonesian Ministry of Research and Technology, holding various leadership positions in policy development and the dissemination of science and technology to the public, industry, and stakeholders.
